Web cartoonist Zhang Lin developed chronic back problems from long hours of meeting deadlines. After recovering, she made plush toy claw machine games a daily exercise and stuck to it consistently. By chance, she met a reclusive middle-aged man who was equally obsessed with the claw machine. To learn his skills, she approached him proactively. They began accompanying each other on daily claw machine trips, gradually warming each other’s lonely lives through their companionship and bringing back the long-lost smile to the man’s face.
