The Promise of Her Return

To support her daughter and repay heavy debts, Susan leaves her four-year-old girl in the care of her eldest brother and goes overseas to work. She sends back generous child support every month, determined to return once she’s debt-free. Eight years later, now debt-free and full of hope, she returns on her daughter’s 12th birthday, only to find that fate has played a cruel trick: Her beloved daughter has long been gone.
